Art has always wrestled with the question of beauty. How beauty is represented, manipulated and defined is at the root of my artistic creation. When I witness something 'beautiful' in nature I often feel the immediately and urgent desire to own it, possess it and keep it as close as possible. I feel this way because I know this experience is fleeting.

It is this conflict that I hope to capture in my work. To me it's a very natural and human conflict - the desire to preserve beauty and the recognition that it is a futile pursuit.

All of these works are digital photographs printed on archival matte paper.
