Interior Flowers

Weddings have always been our main focus. And while we will never tire of designing gorgeous flowers for life's special occasions, it has been a nice change of pace to consider flower arranging in a different way. Specifically, how flowers can interact with and enhance one's interior design.

Over the last several months we've had the pleasure of designing flowers for Brooklyn Height's newly renovated Standish. Once a stately Beaux Arts era hotel, this classic structure welcomed world travelers during the early 20th century. Now DDG Partners have transformed it into one of the borough's premier contemporary residences. The ample ceiling height and windows allow for lots of air and light and the simple, clean fixtures bring the design up to modern tastes.

When choosing flowers for your home consider the focal points in the room. What do you want to see when you first walk in? Make what you first see when entering your home something peaceful or uplifting. Flowers can do that for you. Help elevate your mood and change your point of view.

We often design single flower type arrangements. Thinking more about how overall shape and color effects the rooms decor. Here a mass of bright yellow vanda orchids add color to the room of neutrals

Another style we employ quite a bit is creating a single cohesive look from a trio of separate botancial elements. Different flowers and foliage when placed together make up a striking singular whole.

Focal point arrangements are often a mix of long lasting flowers. Here we have cymbidium orchids, gladiolus, and pussy willow.
